The Children’s Particiption in Schools project has recently presented at the 2023 European Early Childhood Education Research Association (EECERA) conference in Lisbon, Portugal.
Dr Jennie Clement and Dr Jacky Tyrie shared some initial findings looking at ‘Pedagogical constructions of young children’s participative rights across Initial Teacher Education in Wales’. The presentation considered how Initial Teacher Education (ITE) programmes in Wales support the Welsh Government’s vision and rhetoric for participatory pedagogies for young children within early education. Sharing these initial findings sparked some interesting conversations and reflections with colleagues from across the world and these will feed into our project moving forward.
